What is FiORe?
FiORe ® © is a new Social Network Site.
It's purpose is to create a community of people willing to do something for our planet.
Everybody knows what pollution is; not everyone knows that it can be fought day by day with little actions, from many persons.
If we could just fix things instead of throwing them away, there would be less litter, less need of making things, less energy and raw material used.
And even unfixable things could become precious, by simply giving them another life, in the shape of something else.
What can FiORe users post?
Basically, anything concerning Earth matters.
For instance:
- Repairing things
- Maintenance
- Modernization, enhancement, reconditioning
- Techniques to avoid planned obsolescence
- Reuse of components of objects in other objects
- Creation of objects with recycled or commonly used components
- Art installations with recycled or commonly used components
- Correct disposal of trash
- Planning site cleaning events
These operations may be performed on:
- Electronics and household appliances
- Furniture, furnishings and accessories
- Vehicles
- Tools, equipment
- Toys
- Clothes, fabrics and materials
- Food
- Whatever comes on your mind
Reuse can even mean use again, so FiORe users may as well sell items, plan garage sails, make donations, make shelters for homeless, etc.
